These are pointless

I tested a box of all different Star Grip models except undersize for a few hours, and there is no incentive to buy this STX model at all.

The Sidewinder feels great, tackier with more control than a regular tour velvet. The classic wrap and tour star+ feel really soft and even tackier, hitting balls with those felt insanely good (I went with the tour star+ for all my clubs cause jesus that was buttery good). Those felt like a straight upgrade from my regular Golf Pride grips.

But this model? The texture makes it slippery and less tacky. It's harder than the product it competes with (MCC). It needs to be aligned. The texture that's supposed to give you control, takes it away. Also, a minor point, it's damn ugly.

The Tour Star+ is the best grip I've ever used. The Sidewinder comes in at a second. So if you order a STX just to try it, make sure you get one of those as well so you don't miss out on how great the grips from these guys actually are. Except for this.

Even a top horizontal wrap half and a bottom half like the sidewinder (tack for grip and texture for control) would've made more sense and it would've barely looked worse.

Not ultra tackier then the classic, annoying texture, 20% more expensive than the classic wrap.

Not ultra tackier then the classic, annoying texture, about 0,9 mm smaller in circumference at the butt end compared to the classic (midsize wraps), 20% more expensive than the classic wrap, more difficult to get them on the shaft then the classic using air system, could be my handling. The air system is one of the great reasons to buy these Star grips, same wetness slip when i tested them compared to the Classic wrap. I use many years the Star grips Classic wraps. They are great and one of the bestgrips out there. I thought tried for this EPGA season the STX but it is not for me.
I send them email with request to return them and get the classic wraps.
I have not gotten a reply from them. I think because there is something wrong with their email system and not bad support per se. We will see.
Stick with the Classic wrap imho.
If they can make the smoothee wrap in midsize then they have a winner and I will buy these immediately.
Of course the above is my personal opinion.

3-Year Warranty

Star Grips, which are 100% made in the USA, are made of a proprietary rubber compound which does not become hard or slick with exposure to sweat, heat, UV rays, ozone, etc. This sets them apart from most other brands which are made with a mixture of cheap rubber, fillers, and other synthetic materials, and come with no warranty at all. Every Star Grip comes with a 3-year warranty which guarantees that the grips will not harden, crack, split, or become slick during that time. This reliability will enhance the performance of your golf swing, whether it's your 1st round or your 100th!

Tapeless Installation

Our optional tapeless installation method is quick, simple, neat, and allows the club to be used immediately with no drying time! Using an air compressor and our installation gun, you can install Star grips over old tape, build-up tape, or directly on the bare shaft. For those of you who prefer the “old school” tape & solvent method, you can do that as well.
